Dear family and friends,
Thank you for all the support and prayers. Cody’s bone graft surgery was a success. He has been obviously in a substantial amount of of pain, but it has subsided somewhat. Surprisingly, Cody has been moved to outpatient status, and into the baracks for possibly a couple of weeks at Camp Pendleton, CA. He is happy to be moving forward in his recovery, and...

Dear family and friends, Cody is now actually in route to the Naval Medical Center in San Diego with his fiance Katie. They should be arriving sometime this afternoon. Cody was very excited to be moving forward to California and to a new change of scenery. Kerri, Gracious, Andrew and I are planning to make it there by tonight and see him tomorrow. We are all very excited that it looks...

Hello there, unfortunately I can’t control the universe. Well, actually… it is fortunate for everyone! We got word today that Cody has another infection which is causing a 103 fever. He will not be coming to Palo Alto as soon as we thought. He will be having one more skin graph surgery on his face when his fever is gone, hopefully on Monday. Please be in prayer for Cody as...

Dear friends and family,
It looks like Cody’s infections are clearing up and he has been weaned off of one of his main medications. Today Cody told Kerri he is getting stronger and didn’t have as much trouble getting into his wheelchair as he had the last time. If all goes as is planned, Cody and Katie will be flying to Palo Alto, California on Saturday August 6. We (our family)...

Dear friends and family, The doctors found an infection in Cody’s leg which was probably causing his fever, just below the knee on the inner side. They had to put a third tube in his leg to drain any infection. Please pray for him as he was experiencing a great deal of pain. Since I drafted the above, Cody is doing better. Two of the three tubes have been removed and his pain has...

Hello there family and friends,
My Kerri is the only one there now with Cody. Katie had to go home for a few days because of her job. Kerri has informed me that the big surgery (plastic) that was planned has been cancelled because the skin on his face is growing in better than they expected. This is blessed good news, especially being that Cody has been through surgery after surgery. Kerri...

Dear family and friends, Please pray for Cody. The surgery on his right leg went well today, the doctor said. Kerri thanked him and the doctor said it was his honor to do all he could to help Cody. When she got to the recovery room, Cody was in a great deal of pain, at a high 8 on a one to ten scale. She was very upset and was asking for prayer for him, Katie and herself. The doctors or...

Hello there, Yesterday, Wednesday, was probably Kerri’s most difficult day since she has been in Maryland. Cody has had surgery after surgery, and Wednesday he was in surgery for about 12 hours. Of course, the only reason it was so difficult for her was because of what she has been seeing her son go through. After seeing him in the recovery room after a twelve hour surgery on the...

Good day to you all. What a great Father’s day gift for me to know that my wife is with my stepson, her firstborn, and that he is in good spirits considering all he has endured and will have to endure on the road of recovery. The fact that his attitude is so positive, that his vital organs are in tact, and that his brain is functioning well has brought relief to all us. There is a...

Dear friends and family, Cody has arrived in Bethesda, Maryland at the National Naval Medical Center. Kerri’s flight left at 6:22 in the morning out of San Luis Obispo and will go to LAX to Chicago to DC and I think she said it’s about a 30 min drive to the hospital. She was arriving somewhere around 8 pm before their drive to the hospital. We met with our priest last...

Dear family and friends,We are thankful and amazed that we heard from Cody this morning around 6am, 3pm where he is. He was able to talk with his mamma for about 5 to 10 minutes. Amazing. Thanks be to God! What a miracle! It was truly a joy to hear Kerri get to speak her love to him and converse with her firstborn. I got to hear his voice, being it was so quiet in our house (Thank God,...

We are thanking God for fact Cody is alive and has demonstrated much courage for our country and his fellow soldiers. We are grieving because of the difficult road that is ahead for him, but rejoicing that he is still with us, and that he is being taken well care of. We received a call this morning and given a phone number to reach the hospital in Germany. The nurse’s name was Lauren ...
